Samara Aerospace studied, invented and created the Sputnik, the first satellite launched into space by man. But Samara Aerospace is not only about space, it’s also about humanistic studies too. The objective of creating one single body requested a new logo that represent two different worlds becoming one.

the brief:

Samara University is one of the leading cultural centers in Russia for the study of the sciences. It offers cutting-edge education and maintains an excellent standard of research in social and cultural projects, while also focusing on the development and strengthening of the aerospace industry and high technology. In 2015, it was integrated into SSAU and renamed Academician Korolev Samara National Research University (Samara University). The goal was to create a new brand and symbol that would convey the beginning of a new era for Samara University, emphasizing specialization, research, and development in the aerospace field.

strategy:

The chosen solution from the various proposals represents the unity and independence of the two universities in a single symbol. The new emblem is inspired by the gravitational forces of the universe, reflecting the precise scientific intelligence behind every activity at the University.
